Another great wedding!
Last Saturday I did a wedding in Tabernash at Devil's Thumb Ranch! It was beautiful! We were expecting rain during the day, but we actually got some snow. She had arranged for a carriage ride for the ceremony and great florals to compliment the outdoor area. We thought this might not happen! We decided about 2 hours before the ceremony to go ahead with outside, since it started clearing up. Then about 15 before the wedding, it started to get gusty and sprinkling. So we quickly moved everything inside and also rearranged the room for an indoor ceremony. This made the ceremony run about 20 minutes late. But it all came together and was beautiful! And she did decided to come in the carriage - the rain held off! The ceremony was gorgeous and very personal - they both wrote vows to each other. After the ceremony, they were able to take some pictures outside - of course, the sky had to clear then!
The reception complimented the barn in every way! They personalized their reception by naming the tables after places they had visited and let me tell you, they have traveled!! I told the bride on many occasions I wanted to trade her lives so I could travel like they have. They also had pictures of their engagement pictures around - everyone especially like the one with the red barn. They have always said they want to own some land and have a red barn built - so it was very appropriate. The groom's family owns a ranch and to incorporate that aspect - they welded 3 pony horse shoes together and made it into a votive candle holder!! Awesome!!
I will post some pictures later today, but in the meantime you can look at www.melissarich.com/slideshows/kristenandpreston - oh and the last picture is stunning! It was taken at night and it came out of the camera like that!
I have gotten to know this couple over the last several months and they are some of the best people you could meet. I know they are going to have a wonderful life together traveling the world!! Congratulations you two! It was an amazing wedding!

Time flies!! Sorry it has been so long since my last post but boy have I been busy! My sister just had her second baby so I was in Oklahoma City for a week to visit and help her. Then I had some training for my job and then week went by so fast!
Last night, I had a wedding at The Sunrise Ampitheater in Boulder and the reception was at the Hotel Boulderado. Let me tell you, it was gorgeous!! The bride and groom are so in love, you could just feel it. They wrote their own vows and I don't think there was a dry eye, so sweet. The reception was just beautiful! The flowers were amazing! What a beautiful wedding! Congrats to the bride and groom and have a wonderful time in France! I will post some pictures as soon as I receive a few from the photographer.
I have another busy week ahead. Next weekend, I will be in Devil's Thumb, another beautiful location in Colorado. Talk to yall soon!

All About Me!!!
I always try to get to know my brides as well as I can before the wedding. But my brides may not be able to get to know me as well. So I am going to answer a few basics about me, if there is anything, ok well not anything, but something about me you would like to know...ask and I'll answer it. So here we go!
Name?
Obviously, Danielle
How long have you been married?
a little over 2 years
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We spend two weeks in beautiful Maui! I enjoyed every minute of it and would love to go back.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I really enjoy reading, scrapbooking and cross stitching. I sound like a lot of fun, right? But I don't really have time to do any of that since I had a baby.
What are the most important things in your life?
Family comes first and foremost - my husband, my daughter and my dogs. My business comes next, I love every minute of it.
Do you have another job other than planning weddings?
Right now I do. I work as a school secretary. Hopefully, I will not be doing that for too much longer, but it is nice to have something to do in the off season...is there one? I have experienced one too much.
How did you get into wedding planning?
After planning my wedding, I just couldn't let it go. I had been thinking about doing wedding planning for a while, even before I got married. I think going through the whole process helps out in planning, I can still remember all the feelings I had being a bride. I just truly love planning the weddings!
Did you go to school for wedding planning?
I did, I took an online course and am certified. I am also a member of a couple professional wedding planning organizations.
How long have you been planning weddings?
My business is 2 years old and I also planned my own wedding.
How many weddings have you done?
To date, I have done over 30 weddings. This ranges from small 30 people weddings to 450 people weddings.
Where is your favorite place to plan?
I don't think I have a favorite place, but I love the Broadmoor! I have done a couple weddings there and it is just an awesome place. The views, the service and the feel is just wonderful. It feels like a mini vacation for some reason - even just being a vendor, they treat you like a guest. I also love Devil's Thumb Ranch - just so beautiful!
What would you be doing if you weren't planning weddings?
I would love to be a pastry chef! I love to bake, oh gosh do I love it. But I don't do it a lot because we could not eat it all the time. So if anyone ever wants some cupcakes or cookies or cake or tart or or...let me know!
So I think I have covered some basics! If you have another question, ask away!
