Petal Talk

The peony is such a beautiful wedding flower. They are a full fluffy flower and also very romantic. The Peony is a treasured flower throughout Asia. There are 30 different species of peonies and comes in 4 different shapes. The peony usually blooms in mid-late spring. Peonies can be quite pricy as a wedding flower – a $4-5 per head to be exact. However, the price may be justified by the large size of the flower heads. If peonies are an out-of-season, the expense may be even greater, because flowers may have to be imported from Northern Europe or from New Zealand. Colors range from white to cream to yellow, and from the palest of pinks to reds to the deepest maroons. The fragrance of peonies is reminiscent of an intense rose scent. A peony bouquet is especially suitable for a wedding with a Victorian theme or with a Chinese theme. Peonies are compatible with the rich colors, heavy satins, velvets, and laces. They are regarded as an omen of good fortune and a happy marriage.
